As we thought in my previous post, Rooney will adding up the goals to be the top scorers in the league but according to the latest update it seems not like it.
Rooney was a spectator as United leapfrogged Chelsea at the top of the table with a 3-1 victory over Tottenham at Old Trafford on Saturday. The England striker picked up a groin injury during training on Thursday and watched on from a private box.
Speaking after the match, Sir Alex Ferguson admitted that Rooney may miss their two final league games - away at Sunderland and at home to Stoke City - in a major blow to the Red Devils' hopes of winning a fourth consecutive league crown.
"It's difficult to say, groin injuries are groin injuries, it might be two to three weeks," said Ferguson.
"We'll give it every chance. Wayne's obviously desperate to play."
Rooney had only recently returned to full training after damaging ankle ligaments during the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinal defeat to Bayern Munich last month.
