Rooney Clinches Title #19

Manchester United have won their 19th Premier League title in the modern era.  What a feat!!!!

The game on Saturday exemplified what this season has been all about for Manchester United-a never say quit mindset.  Many games throughout this season have shown that this squad possesses a will and determination to win.  Even when it looks like it might be over, the team pops up with a winner or a dramatic equalizer.

The game at Aston Villa: down 2-0 late.  Sir Alex sends on Machieda who instantly scores with his first touch of the ball.  Villa becomes nervy and Vidic heads home to tie the game 2-2.  A huge point saved!

The game at Blackpool: down 2-0 at half.  The team does not give up and ups the tempo to score three second half goals to secure a 3-2 win. 

The game at home to Everton: 0-0 throughout the entire match until Hernandez pops up and scores a late dramatic goal for the 1-0 win.

The game at home to Chelsea: Hernandez scores just 1 minute into the game and Vidic adds another off of Giggs service.  Huge win as it all but secured the PL Title.

The game at Blackburn: down 1-0 at half.  United again ups the tempo and presses for a goal.  Hernandez gets tripped in the box and Rooney steps up to bury the penalty.  United tie the game 1-1 and secure their 19th Premier League Title.

So Man United holds the top spot for most Premier League titles passing Liverpool who own 18 Premier League titles.  A huge congrats to Sir Alex and this group of United players who continue on representing what this club is all about!!
