Manchester United vs. Liverpool
I said it before the Chelsea game on Tuesday but Manchester United have arrived at the critical point of the season. It is the point in the season when every competition starts to reach the peak and there are defining moments for every team.
Unfortunately, Man United did not get the desired result on Tuesday at Stamford Bridge. I was only able to watch about 65 minutes of the game live but did hear about the pk decision and Vidic's red card. It was not a good finish to the match.
But...we can not dwell in the loss of Tuesday but rather look forward to a tough game on Sunday against Liverpool at Anfield. This game like all games at this point is huge in the title race. Currently United sit on 60 points with 28 games played. Arsenal sits second with 56 points with 27 games played. Assuming Arsenal wins their game in hand, United have the smallest of leads in the Premier League with 1 point. It is interesting to note that United only lost by a point last year in the Premier League but hopefully we will be on the other side this time and crown ourselves champions in May!
So going into the match on Sunday, United are without Vidic and Ferdinand which is a huge loss. The young Chris Smalling will probably slot into centerback with John O'Shea? It will be a really tough decision for Sir Alex but hopefully there will be a good solution!
Game kicks off at 7:30am on Sunday morning on Fox Soccer Channel.
Come on United!!!
