All in all I can't say it was too terrible, no, I would not want to do any of it again, but it was an important year for big lessons. I learned how truly blessed I am to be surrounded by such an amazing support system of friends and family. People who were there for me to cry with, gain encouragement from in many shapes and sizes, and buy me a good drink when life absolutely called for one. No matter how much you lose, the people in your life will always be the most important thing you possess, and fortunately something free.
Looking forward for 2010 I have no idea what to expect. Last year was the first year that I didn't know my future, because I had finally graduated school, and look how topsy turvey it became! One thing I do know is that 2010 will be yet another year of big life lessons. Living abroad has been the hardest thing I have ever done, I miss my friends, family, and home life constantly. But I know that growth comes with a sacrifice and although this is no cake walk, the other side will be liberating.
I am not big on New Year's Resolutions, but here are a few things I am looking into for this year:
1. Finish training and complete my first marathon
2. Speak French fluently
What was 2009 to you?
Don't forget to check out the last post series! I did a lot of research to recap great things from the first decade of the 21st Century!
